Sadly, there aren't many options - the cap of my budget is around $2200 because I'll have to make my insurance down payment and register the car and stuff. I looked on the AutoTrader site (country-wide site for used vehicles and stuff) and got these results - some of them are in the wrong spot, but any within my budget in Halifax, Dartmouth, Eastern Passage, and Upper/Middle/Lower Sackville are ones I can think about, and maybe also Truro.
That green '96 Jetta for $1495 was looking really good (I've wanted a Jetta for years, haha), but when I called to ask a couple questions about it the guy said it was sold - but it's still listed, so I'm hoping (probaby futiley) that he was mistaken. XDD Now there's another one of the same year and colour listed too, but it's nearly 3k, and unless I get a lot more money selling back textbooks than I expect, it's definitely too expensive. Sigh. Also, it's diesel, which requires more maintenance and is currently more expensive than gas. You can run them on cooking oil in the summer according to
Oh well, I'll figure things out. XD
I may get to see
Whatever I get, I promise to post pictures and details, assuming anyone wants to hear. Read. Whatever. XD
Had my first exam on Tuesday, Earth Science. It went all right. Not wonderfully, but good enough. I have Spanish in ... six hours at nine AM, and my Tolkien exam tomorrow (Friday) and nine AM. My take-home for my Mysticism class is due by the end of the day today (Thursday), too, but it's only 750 words, so it shouldn't take me long.
I actually have an idea for
Talked to Lloyd at the 5c to $1 on Tuesday - I worked there first year, and since I'm going to be around for the summer, I thought I'd ask if he would have any work for me. He thought he might have 15 to 25 hours a week for me since Danielle (their main part-timer) left, but he's not sure right now because things are kind of eight kinds of insane. He figured next week he'd be able to let me know more solidly. Woo, job!
I get to go to
Also, here's the song I'm currently listening to: Alanis Morissette - You Oughta Know
Blarg, should go back to studying now. Boooooooo.
Ah well. Cheers, all!!

So I've been pondering getting a car lately. Nothing expensive, mind, more like a $600 clunker kind of car. Of course, my mother will freak out at the idea because she thinks I can't take care of myself or that I have any idea about how to budget or what it will cost, but that's the great thing about being out and on my own and over 18 and no longer dependant: it doesn't matter what she wants.
Dad will be less insane about it, I think; he'll probably ask me how much I know about the costs of insurance and registration/plates and inspections and stuff, but if I can answer those satisfactorily then he'll probably resign himself to the fact that I'm going to do it whether he's okay with it or not. Following this decision, he'll likely give me whatever help he can with making sure that what I'm paying for won't fall apart halfway out of the lot. My dad is awesome like that.
Didn't get to karate tonight - had to go to the hospital with a friend (but things are fine) and thus didn't get much accomplished this afternoon, though I told Mike via e-mail earlier that I didn't think I'd be able to go anyway. I didn't get hardly any sleep last night, and going to karate means I can't get a nap in and dead tiredness when I should be alert because I'm at work. XDD
Last day of classes on Wednesday!! Well, until I start my intersession classes on April 27th. But whatever. ^^ I'm kinda excited for my intersession classes, so woo!
Still need a summer job, though I've probably secured a way to make extra money during the exam period before I'm officially jobless.
Found a couple CDs I'd bought during my reading week back at the end of February, during which Kelsey and I drove up to Halifax for a day trip. They're The Sounds of Nova Scotia volumes one and two, and when I was little we had the cassette tapes. We've still got them somewhere, but when you play them they sound kind of funny because they got played so much when I was a kid. They were the two most listened to tapes in our entire collection - they're like every trip I ever took to visit my grandma or my aunts and uncles and cousins when I was young.
I had tried finding the music to download at one point, but I only ever found about four of the twenty-three songs (total from both albums). So then I saw them at HMV and couldn't NOT buy them. I missed these songs a lot more then I realised until I listened to the albums again - it's the music I grew up with and it kind of feels like part of me, if that makes any sense at all. XDD
A bunch of the songs are also giving me Proverse bunnies (Sam being from Cape Breton and all), but I don't have time to write them right now. Sad. :(

Also, I am listening to Hanson. Yes, THAT Hanson. Of MMMBop fame. I like Hanson again, and it's all your fault,

I figured I should make an actual, real post, haha, as opposed to spastic, joyous, or not-so-joyous flailing, fandom or otherwise.
One exam left, tomorrow morning at nine: Sociology 100. Not too worried about it, going to start studying in a bit. Wrote Computer Science today, and am almost guaranteed to fail it, due to my prof being a total fucking dickwad. Long story very, very short, among other things, he decided to do shit with us that mostly only gets don eby third year CompSci majors, and is not supposed to be covered in the 100 class at ALL. Bastard.
Wrote my Celtic Civ final yesterday, and it went pretty good - I also got back the paper I'd been practically tearing my soul out and bleeding over and loathing and suchlike. If you're on my AIM, you may have seen my username being something about That Damn Paper. Another long story short, it was my term paper worth 30 points on my final grade, and it shouldn't have been hard, but it was completely killing me. It gave me more trouble than any other paper I've ever written for university - including the 19 pages I wrote for my Creative Writing final - and I spent more time on it, too. It was supposed to be eight to ten pages. I ended up handing in five pages of, IMO, total shit, three days after the extension the prof had given me ended. Considering this, I'm not actually displeased with the 19/30 I got.
Friday is moving day. Well, moving-my-shit-day, since I'm not actually going home until Saturday night or Sunday morning, depending on how late the staff banquet on Saturday night runs. We'll see, anyway.
Jessica will be back in Pictou county on Sunday, too, as you may have figured out from my last post. I start work on Monday, babysitting the same seven kids I did last year for May and June. I'm looking forward to it, sinc eI haven't seen them since Christmas and rather miss them! <3
...But really, thanks. :DDDDD I'm getting SO stoked and so excited for all these ideas we have! And the fact that there's ACTUAL STUFF on the profile page and main page of the comm now! Okay, fine, it's just little wee profiles for Sam and Derek, and an itty bitty, incomplete intro post. BUT! Soon we will have PRETTY GRAPHICS! And ICONS! And ACTUAL CONTENT! And STUFF! And
Well, ideally. XDD The fans will likely be a long time coming, sadly, lol, but we'll have to see. Maybe we'll get lucky and internet-famous, haha. XD
Residence is kinda depressing lately, not in the least because my beloved Gilmora (where I live this year and lived last year) isn't going to be residences next year. On Friday at 12.01 PM, the construction guys are showing up to remove furniture and walls and start renovations to make it the Music Department and offices. ;-; I have to go around Gil either tonight or tomorrow and take pictures before Gil is no longer "my" Gil.
Also, it's starting to get rather empty and quiet. I haven't even noticed the nun around lately. I wonder what she's going to do next year when she doesn't have her residents around to mother by making the lights do weird things when you should be going to bed? (Among other things, lol. XD)
I've worked rather a lot this week, and will be working more, lol. Sunday I was 4PM-8PM, Monday I was the same shift, I work 8PM-152AM last night, am working a double shift from 4PM-12AM today (right now), and am working another double shift from 4PM to 12AM tomorrow, and Joan's lunch hour on Friday, either 12.30-1.30 or 1.2, depending on when I finish packing my crap into the car. Which technically has to be by 12.00 because of the aforementioned furniture-and-wall-removing construction dudes, but I plan to have something to eat before working.
I was trying to figure out what the hell I was going to DO all day Friday, since I can't hang out in my room and Sam-my-computer will be packed up and sent back to Pictou County with my mum, seeing as he's a desktop and I can't cart him around with me, lol. Then someone reminded me that the campus computers labs will still be open, probably, and the library definitely will be. : DDDDD Something tells me I'll be spending all day Friday and probably most of the day Saturday holed up in the labs.
I'm going to miss the
